MISSION
To train computer programmers who are equipped with the current knowledge and skills of the computer industry, who have the ability to learn continuously, who have ethical values, in international quality and standards and to bring them to our business world.

VISION
To be a program that takes an active role in vocational education in the computer field, trains computer programmers who are sought after in quality and competence, contributes to the development and development of our country, and is preferred by students and the business world.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Due to the rapid spread of computer use and its use in every field, the need for technical intermediate staff in computer has increased. In our computer programming program, considering the needs of the sector, it is foreseen that they will be trained in five areas in the computer field.

  • Using operating systems and basic software well
  • Hardware and computer maintenance, Network installation
  • Making software using programming languages or being a software support staff
  • Database management and database programming
  • Internet Programming
  • Computerized control
In addition to the courses taught in these five areas, we also have elective courses. Since our field is a rapidly developing field, we need to update our content at reasonable intervals. These studies are carried out within the framework of the projects carried out by the Higher Education Institution. In addition to theoretical courses, students have the opportunity to develop their skills with summer internships. Students also work on a project that will use a lot of information they have learned together while graduating.

Aim of the Program

The aim of our program is to train staff who are prone to the theoretical and practical skills needed by the sector and who have gained these skills to the maximum extent. These skills are as follows:

  • To be a good computer user.
  • To be a good computer maintenance and repair.
  • To be able to use at least one of the current programming languages at a good level.
  • To be able to design and query small and medium sized databases.
  • To be aware of different database structures.
  • To design web pages and add rich dynamic content.
  • To make basic computerized automation software.

The working areas of computer programming graduates can be listed as follows.

  • Technical staff in computer maintenance and repair units in businesses.
  • Data entry staff in hospitals, public institutions and other businesses.
  • Software support staff in software companies.
  • Information Processing support staff in factories.
Assistant technical staff in factory automation systems.

Current Status and Future of the Field

Computer use has increased rapidly, especially in the last decade of the twentieth century. This increase has occurred both by spreading all over the world and by diversifying the area of use. Information Technologies is a field that emerged as a result of developments in the computer sector and includes computer hardware and software technologies used to store, transmit and process data.

However, today, Information Technologies (IT) is not a field limited to the installation of computer systems and the configuration of software. IT has many components such as computer hardware, software, computer networks, communication technologies, manpower trained in this field, procedures, internet, intranet and communication tools. The IT sector has existed in the world for the last 50 years, but today it is a sector of extraordinary importance. The IT sector, which has a very high added value, is one of the favorite sectors in developed countries. In our country, as businesses are rapidly progressing towards institutionalization, the need for the field of Information Technologies has started to increase even more. For this reason, there is a great need for people with qualifications in the field of Information Technologies. Currently, people from other branches and professions continue to turn to the need in this field. However, the right thing to do is to train people with these competencies from the ground up in this field.

In the future, Computer Technologies will continue to be the most important element of working life. Training people with competence in this field is very important for the development and progress of this sector in our country.

Occupations Under the Field

There are the following branches under the Information Technologies Field:

  • Network Operator
  • Web Programming
  • Database Programming
  • Computer Technical Service

Job Opportunities

Network operators have a wide range of job opportunities in computer sales and technical support companies, banks, insurance companies, commercial organizations, internet service providers, internet broadcasting companies, radio and television companies, research companies, stock exchanges, transportation, logistics companies and public institutions and organizations in the service sector. They can also open a workplace on their own behalf. Web programmers can work in public institutions, banks and private sector workplaces, companies that trade over the internet (e-commerce). They can also open their own private workplaces. Database programmers can work in public institutions, banks and private sector companies. They can also open their own private workplaces. Technical service personnel can work in companies that collect and sell computers, workplaces that have computers, companies, companies belonging to the private sector. They can also open their own private workplaces.

In addition, those who have successfully completed associate degree programs can make vertical transfer to the 4-year departments mentioned above if they are successful in the vertical transfer exam opened by ÖSYM. Vocational Education Centers are educational institutions opened in order to train qualified intermediate manpower needed by the industry by training candidate apprentices, apprentices, journeymen and masters in the provinces and professions included in the scope of apprenticeship education and by opening various vocational courses. Public Education Centers provide education to individuals of all ages and levels with non-formal education programs that can be applied anytime and anywhere within the perspective of lifelong learning. Vocational Education Centers provide education in the field of Information Technologies. Since there is a parallelism between modular programs and vocational schools, horizontal and vertical transitions will be possible.
