MISSION
It trains qualified personnel in line with the demands and advancements of the sectors related to the production and maintenance services of electrical household appliances.
 
VISION
To train technical service personnel for maintenance and repair services of electrical devices, especially electrical household devices, and the necessary intermediate technical personnel who can take part in the production stages of electrical devices.
 
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The program is a four-semester program that provides education and training in order to train technicians in the maintenance, repair, installation, supervision of electrical devices, production, testing and measurement of electrical equipment, safe installation of electricity in buildings, maintenance of electrical vehicles and equipment, and troubleshooting. As of the 2024–2025 academic year, the program has adopted the 3+1 Workplace Training Model. Within this model, the fourth semester includes a hands-on internship period, allowing students to gain practical experience in the field.
 
PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
The aim of the Electrical Appliance Technology Program is to train qualified intermediate technical personnel who can take part in the production, installation, maintenance, repair and fault detection of household and industrial electrical appliances in particular, who are adept at technical service and production processes, can follow up on current technologies, have problem deciphering skills, adhere to ethical values and meet the needs of the sector.
 
EDUCATION - TRAINING
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION
In accordance with the regulations set by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), admission to this program is carried out through the examination system administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Candidates must be graduates of a high school or an equivalent institution and must have achieved a sufficient score in the TYT (Basic Proficiency Test) conducted by ÖSYM to be placed in the program.
For the admission and registration of foreign students: those whose nationality is not Turkish Republic (TR) or Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), as well as dual citizens whose one nationality is not TR or TRNC, are evaluated as foreign nationals. Turkish citizens who continued their secondary education abroad before 01/02/2013 and completed the last three years of their secondary education (high school) in a foreign country other than the TRNC (including those who completed all of their secondary education in Turkish schools opened abroad under the Turkish Ministry of National Education) may apply to the quotas for students admitted from abroad.
For candidates who began their secondary education abroad after 01/02/2013, only those who have completed all of their secondary education (high school) in a foreign country other than the TRNC (including those who completed all of their secondary education in Turkish schools opened abroad under the Turkish Ministry of National Education) may apply to the quotas for students admitted from abroad.
Applicants who are TRNC citizens residing in the TRNC, have completed their secondary education (high school) in the TRNC, and possess GCE AL examination results, as well as those who enrolled and received education in colleges or high schools in other countries between 2005 and 2010 and possess or will possess GCE AL examination results, are eligible to apply.
 
DURATION AND CONTENT OF EDUCATION
The program is based on a 3+1 workplace training model. In this model, education is provided over four semesters, with three semesters of formal classroom instruction and one semester of full-time practical training in a workplace environment. During their education, students take the following courses:
1st Semester: Vocational Mathematics I, Scientific Principles of Technology, Computer-Aided Circuit Design, Measurement Techniques in Electricity and Electronics, Direct Current Circuits, Microcontrollers, Household Appliances I
2nd Semester: Vocational Mathematics II, Analog Electronics, Alternating Current Circuit Analysis, Household Appliances II, Soldering Techniques, Business World and Entrepreneurship, Sectoral Occupational Health and Safety
3rd Semester: Maintenance and Fault Detection in Electrical Appliances, Household Appliances III, System Analysis and Design, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Heating and Cooking Devices, Power Electronics, Electrical Machines
4th Semester: On-the-Job Vocational Training
In addition, students take general culture courses such as Principles of Atatürk and History of Turkish Reforms, Turkish Language, and Foreign Language in the first year. Students also complete one semester of workplace-based vocational training relevant to their field.
 
DURING EDUCATION
Throughout their education, students may benefit from student loans provided by the Credit and Dormitories Institution and various scholarships or grants offered by other public institutions and organizations.
 
AFTER EDUCATION
Graduates who are employed in public institutions as Electrical Appliance Technology Technicians are paid according to the coefficients and allowances specified in the Technical Services Class under the Civil Servants Law No. 657. Salaries in the private sector are determined by mutual agreement between the employee and employer.
 
TITLE AND JOBS OF GRADUATES
Graduates who successfully complete the Electrical Appliance Technology Program are awarded an associate degree and the professional title of "Electrical Appliance Technology Technician." These graduates are qualified to work in the production, quality control, maintenance, and repair of electrical appliances and devices.
 
ELECTRICAL DEVICE TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN
A mid-level professional who works in the production, maintenance, and repair of household electrical appliances.

An Electrical Appliance Technology Technician is a graduate of a Vocational School who has specialized in the production, maintenance, and repair of electrical appliances. Individuals with this title may work on both small and large-scale household appliances. Potential employment areas for graduates are listed below:
1) Employment Opportunities in the Private Sector
- Electrical Appliance Manufacturing Factories: Work in assembly, testing, and quality control in companies producing white goods (refrigerators, washing machines, ovens, etc.)
 
- Service and Maintenance Companies: Employed as technicians in appliance repair and maintenance services, or in authorized technical services (e.g., Arçelik, Bosch, Vestel, Beko)
 
- Technical Support and After-Sales Services: Provide technical support, product setup, customer training, and troubleshooting
 
- Electronics Stores/Dealers: Handle product demonstrations, setup assistance, initial diagnostics, and customer guidance
