MISION

Our mission to train technical staff who dominate mechatronic and automation topics and keep those terms working. The educational program focus onthe development of technical competence and critical thinking skills as well associal and personal values.

 

VISION

The program aimed to train technicians who can adapt to new technologies for the industry who needs technicians about mechatronic and automation terms.

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Mechatronics is a new field developed taking into account the machinery, electrical-electronic automation and computer technologies. It covers the control of mechanical and fluid systems with controllable motors (Servo systems), sensors (pressure, temperature, force, flow, speed, torque, level etc.) control units (Computer, PLC etc.) and appropriate software.

Depending on the development of the industry, the need for technicians with high application skills who will graduate from the Electronics and Automation department will increase day by day.

With the development of technology, many mechanical systems; electricity, electronics and computers. As a result, using mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and computer technologies together has become an imperative. These different technology fields, which seem to be independent from each other, but interact with each other in many environments together with the rapidly developing technology, are united under the Mechatronic roof. Mechatronics is a new and modern science that researches control technology for industrial automation.

Automatic machines (ie mechatronic systems) that can detect, measure, decide and act in this direction are used in the defense industry, security systems, machinery industry, industrial automation systems, medicine, agriculture, banking, mining and many other fields and their usage area is increasing day by day. .

The systems and products such as night vision systems, mine scanning robots, automatic stocking systems, cameras, videos, laundry-dishwashers, cash dispensers, which are widely used today, are mechatronic systems.

It is aimed to raise people to meet the needs of the industry on these systems.

Those who have successfully completed the Mechatronics Program are given an associate degree diploma and the title of “Mechatronics Technician”. As a result of the curriculum and activities carried out, it is aimed that the students can use the current production technologies effectively and make maintenance and repairs. In this regard, students who graduate specialize for each vocational course they have taken, both in the public and private sectors; technical services, maintenance-repair units, electrical-electronic and mechanical assembly and disassembly works, microcontroller programming, electrical-electronic and machine device manufacturing factories, electronic design offices, control and control systems, PLC programming, pneumatic-hydraulic systems and robotics. They can set up their own businesses.

 

COURSE CONTENTS 

Many mechanical systems has turned out to electrical, electronical and computer based conditions. As a conclusion of this change; it has became a necessity to use the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic and computer technologies all together. These different technology fields which has been interacted each other in many environments had unified under major Mechatronics technology field with seems unrelated though rapidly developing technology. Mechatronics is a new and contemporary science field that researches Control Systems Technology to obtain Industrial Automating purpose.

 

PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM

Mechatronic product is characteristically different from traditional machinery and electronic products. Additional methods and strategies need to be determined for their designs. While performing a mechatronic design, neither machine, electrical engineer nor pure software can solve the problem. In parallel with the rapid development in this field, the need and employment gap for trained personnel are constantly increasing. The purpose of this program is to introduce, design, install, and install all mechanical, hydraulic-pneumatic, electrical or electronic-based or computer-controlled tools, equipment, equipment, hardware and equipment systems and technological structures that are used in industry and commercial business. It trains skilled, knowledgeable and technical professionals with certain professional skills in terms of use, maintenance, repair and development.

Mechatronics Program has been composed as combination of Electrical Engineering, Electronical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Mechanical engineering fields. Therefore, the technical capability is a significant issue that can serve and take place in related study fields on Mechatronics education. We have required technical capability that is going to start education program in 2013-2014 related to Electrical, Electronical, Computer and Mechanical fields in our College for Mechatronics program.
The employment opportunity is quiet wide in Industry and work fields for the Mechatronics graduated students.

PREREQUISITES FOR ADMISSION OF EDUCATION

The Vocational School graduated students programmes such as; Computer Numeric Control(CNC), Hull Machinery,Industrial Mechanic, Hydraulic and Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Technology, Heavy Equipments, Heavy Equipment Maintenance and Repair, Heavy Equipments Operating, Mould, Moulding, Confection Machines Maintenance and Repair, Machines, Metal Works, Metallurgy, Metallurgy(Iron-Steel Metallurgy), Microtechnics, CNC Machines, Grading, Industrial Automation Technology, Mechatronics can apply to transfer without testing for Mechatronics Associate Degree. They may placed if they carry out the prerequisites.
The other majors that is not mentioned above and the Regular High School Graduated (or prospective) students may be placed according to their preference on the National Examination (YGS) point results if available. Those people have to earn required science (SAY) point from the National Examination which ÖSYM Administration arranges.

 

WORKING FIELDS AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Mechatronics Technicians may work as technical personnel in Public Offices and Private Establishments. They may have opportunity to work in Private Establishments, Industry, Workshops which the rapidly developing Computer Aided Machines are quiet popular in world. Mechatronics Technicians may establish their own workshops.
