PROGRAM PROFILE
Construction Technology Program is an Associate Degree Program consisting of 2 years of formal education. The program will be realized with a 3+1 application and includes three periods of formal training for professional development and one term of workplace vocational practice. Students who are eligible to graduate receive the Associate Degree diploma from the Department of Construction Construction Technology Program and the graduate is given the title of Construction Technician.
Program Educational Objectives
The aim of the Construction Technology Program is to work in public institutions and organizations and in the private sector, have basic technical equipment about all types of structures, are knowledgeable in terms of worker health and safety, can read and implement construction projects, can design and draw projects when necessary, and have package programs on architecture and reinforced concrete. Knowing building materials and their properties, having knowledge of soil mechanics and topography, being able to estimate, measure and cost in an existing building, providing field organization, having basic knowledge about the repair, strengthening and construction of earthquake-resistant structures and carrying out all necessary technical controls. Entry Conditions for Vocational Training
Required conditions to choose this program:
It is necessary to be a high school graduate or its equivalent, to have received sufficient points as a result of the TYT (basic proficiency test) conducted by ÖSYM, and to have been enrolled in the relevant department of the university.
Duration and Content of Training
Construction Technology Program is an Associate Degree Program consisting of 2 years of formal education. The program will be realized with a 3+1 application and includes three periods of formal education for professional development and one term of workplace vocational practice.
Students are taught the following courses;
- In the 1st Semester; Vocational Mathematics I, Mechanics, Technical Drawing, Building Materials, Building Technology, Business World and Entrepreneurship, Ataturk`s Principles and History of Revolution I, Turkish Language I, English I
- In the 2nd Semester; Vocational Mathematics II, Strength, Computer Aided Design I, Concrete Technology, Building Statics, Ataturk`s Principles and History of Revolution II, Turkish Language II, English II
- In the 3rd Semester; Soil Mechanics, Reinforced Concrete, Quantity Surveying and Surveying Works, Topography, Sectoral Occupational Health and Safety
- In the 4th Semester; Vocational Training in Business Administration (Internship)
Additionally, elective courses during the first three semesters; Professional Computer Use, Road Information, Building Installation Information, Water Supply and Wastewater, Insulation Technology, Prefabricated Buildings, Office and Construction Site Organization, Three-dimensional Design in Building, Computer Aided Design II, System Analysis Design, Quality and Assurance Standards, Sustainable and Green Structures, General and Technical Communication, Research and Management Techniques, Business Management and Manufacturing Control, Environmental Protection, Ergonomics in Building, Steel Structures, Hydrology, Smart Building Systems.
During Training
During their education, students can also benefit from student loans provided by the Credit and Dormitories Institution and loan and scholarship opportunities provided by other public institutions and organizations. Students can participate in all kinds of activities, clubs and student societies offered by Çankırı Karatekin University in social, scientific, cultural, artistic and sports fields. In addition, the university library is open to all kinds of scientific research and is easily accessible.
Post Training
Construction Technicians who work in Public Institutions and Organizations after training receive wages according to the coefficients and compensations in the degree and level stipulated in the Technical Services Class of the Civil Servant Law No. 657. The wages of professionals working in the private sector are determined by mutual agreement.

Those who successfully complete the Construction Department Construction Technology Program training are given an associate degree and the title of "Construction Technician". They graduate as qualified personnel with the title of "Construction Technician", having been trained to work in the fields of Building, Construction, Design, Production, Inspection, Maintenance and Repair.

It is an intermediate staff working in the field of all kinds of underground and aboveground building-construction design, production, inspection, maintenance and repair.

Students who graduate from the Construction Technology Program with the title of "Construction Technician"; All kinds of building contracting services, Housing construction, Factory construction, Shopping mall construction, Road construction, Dam construction, Airport construction, Port construction, Water transmission lines construction, Sports facilities construction, etc. They can be employed in building project design offices, all kinds of building inspection services, control units of official government offices, control units of local governments, special inspection units, construction departments of all public or private institutions, project implementation offices, and units providing construction consultancy services.
