1. What is the advantage of Çankırı Karatekin University Vocational School compared to other Vocational Schools?
Our Vocational School has an ongoing history since 1976 and is one of the first Vocational Schools opened in Turkey. It has equipped its workshops and laboratories with state-of-the-art machinery and equipment by making use of the opportunities (5 Million USD) of the YÖK-World Bank Industrial Education Project, and trained a significant part of its teaching staff in the field of vocational education in England and the USA for 3 to 9 months. Our education-training programs and machinery-equipment are constantly renewed according to the needs. The fact that Çankırı is close to Ankara (130 km) creates a great advantage for our students.

2. How can I do my first registration and registration renewal at the university?
The first registration to the university is made in Çankırı within the calendar determined by YÖK. The unit responsible for the registration process is the Student Affairs Department of our university. Registration renewals in the following semesters are made by the students on the internet between the dates specified in our academic calendar. The courses chosen by the student and the registrations made by the student are approved online by the student`s advisor. Students are required to deposit the registration fees to the account announced by the Registrar`s Office for the first registration and registration renewal processes.

3. How can I make a vertical transfer to faculties related to my field after I graduate from Vocational School?
Our students who have graduated from our school can take the Vertical Transfer (DGS) Exam given by ÖSYM. According to the score they will get from this exam, our students can transfer vertically to the relevant departments of the faculties that are suitable for their program. 5. What are the opportunities for accommodation (dormitory, renting a house and eating at school) in Çankırı?
On the Ballıca campus of our university, there are girls` houses with a capacity of 500 students, a state dormitory for 1000 people and private dormitories affiliated to the Credit and Dormitories Institution. Students can rent a house with their own private initiative. In addition, under the supervision of the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, we have a cafeteria serving hot meals in our School. Students, who want to, can easily eat a 4-course meal at low fees with the contribution of the state. Students who do not want to use the cafeteria preference are served from the canteen as an alternative.

6. What are the social, cultural and sportive opportunities of the university?
Many events are organized throughout the year by the Department of Health, Culture and Sports of our university. Our students participate in social, sportive and cultural activities such as Volleyball, Basketball, Table Tennis, Indoor Football, Football, Gymnastics, Boxing, Badminton, Arm Wrestling, Theatre, Music Groups and Folk Dances, and they can participate in domestic and international shows and sports matches. Studies related to sports activities in many branches continue their activities through student clubs. In addition to our current activities, social and cultural trips are also organized depending on the wishes of our students. Students can become members of student clubs established at the University.

7. In which subjects do advisor lecturers help us?
Our students can get help from their advisors in all their work with the school, including education, registration, curricula, horizontal-vertical transfer, social, cultural and sports activities. The first person the student will refer to in all their problems is the Advisor Instructor.

8. How is the course registration process done?
Course registration procedures; It is done through the E-Kampus (Information Management System) on the website of our university, with the student`s choice of course, primarily the compulsory courses, provided that they remain within the limits of the Education and Training Regulations, and with the approval of the advisor.

9. How are the exams and evaluation?
Exams; quiz, midterm exam, semester/end exam, make-up exam, practice exam, make-up exam, supplementary exam and exemption exam. Examinations can be written, oral or both written and oral and/or practical. The places and dates of the exams are determined by the academic units and are announced at least one week before the exams. Students must take the exam on the announced day, time and place, and have their identity documents and other required documents with them. A student who cannot take the midterm exam due to an excuse notifies his/her excuse (illness, etc.) to the School Directorate with a petition. The excuse petition is discussed at the Board of Directors and the student whose excuse is accepted attends the make-up exam on the date to be determined by the department chair.
There are 2 semesters in total, fall and spring semesters each year. Each semester is independent from other semesters and the courses are semester-based. Midterm exams, final exams and make-up exams are held for a course in each semester. After 40% of the midterm exam and 60% of the final exam, the success score is calculated and converted into a letter grade.

10. How are the exams held?
Exams; According to the nature of the course, it can be done in the form of classical, test, classical-test and application. There is no restriction for the course instructor in this regard. Exam questions cover the entire course content. Exams are held on determined and announced dates.

11. What is the supplementary exam and who can participate in the supplementary exam?
Additional exams are held on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Students who have completed all their courses and have failed to attend a maximum of three courses, who have graduated from absenteeism, can take the additional exams held at the beginning of each semester. It is the exam given at the beginning of the semester/year to students who are final-term students and have grades of (FD) or (FF) in at most three courses and/or cannot graduate because their overall academic achievement grade point average is below 2.00.

12. How do workshop and laboratory work affect midterm and final exams?
Exams of applied courses can also be carried out as practice exams. Therefore, the Instructor can practice midterm and final exams. At the same time, by putting an application for each week of the whole semester, it can count them as a midterm exam. The instructor of the course decides on this issue.

13. What should I do for internship and how many days will I do internship?
Internship; It is done according to Çankırı Karatekin University Vocational School Internship Directive. Students determine the place where they will do their internship, get the internship eligibility certificate (application petition) approved from the place where they want to do their internship and submit it to the approval of the Department Chair until the second week of May. Then he fills out the internship file and gets it approved, goes to the workplace where he will do his internship together with the employment declaration. Students are insured during their internship by our University. Students; They do their internship in 30 working days between the dates determined and approved. The internship file is evaluated between the dates determined by the school at the end of the internship. A student who does not do his internship or whose internship is not accepted cannot graduate.

14. Which procedure should we follow and what should we do to solve our problems?
Students should first talk to their advisors about their problems. If a solution is not reached, the head of the department, the deputy director of the college, and the director of the college are discussed in order. First of all, our students should carefully follow the announcements made on our website and boards. Announcements other than the official announcements made by the managers should not be taken into account.

15. Is there wireless internet in the college?
There is wireless internet access in the indoor and outdoor areas of our college. You can use the in-school internet with the username and password to be obtained from the Rectorate`s Information Technologies Department.

16. How can I access the legislation related to education?
You can access the legislation related to education from the college website (http://myo.karatekin.edu.tr/) and our university`s website (www.karatekin.edu.tr) in the legislation section. Our students must comply with the announcements and relevant legislation.

17. How do I find out my grades?
Notes are announced at E-Kampus (Information Management System) internet address.

18. What are the criteria for giving our exam grades (absolute system, relative system)?
Faculty members evaluate the exams according to the absolute or relative system within the framework of the relative evaluation directive of our university and publish the grades on the UBIS system of our university.
If students think that they have received a lower grade than they expected, they can contact the relevant instructor or apply to the Directorate with a petition of material error within the objection period. The student can object to the exam result to the relevant academic unit within one week from the announcement of the grades. The objection is examined by the relevant instructor in terms of material error and the result is reported to the student.

19. What is summer school?
The aims of summer term education are as follows:

  1. To enable high-achieving students to take courses from the upper semester and to allow them to graduate in a shorter time.
  2. To provide opportunities for students in this situation by opening the courses that they did not take or failed during the normal education period, also in the summer months, and to increase the efficiency of education by preventing the accumulation of students in the compulsory courses of the departments/departments.
  3. To enable students in other higher education institutions to benefit from the university`s educational opportunities as a special student, to give students in other higher education institutions the opportunity to follow the courses at the University.

Summer term education; It is opened with the approval of the Senate and the approval of the Council of Higher Education.
In the summer term, the education period is at least thirty-five working days. Registration and semester/end-of-year exams are outside of this period.
For each course opened in the summer term, there are lessons equal to the total number of lessons taught in the fall or spring semesters. Attendance at summer school is compulsory.
Taking courses in the summer term depends on the student`s wishes. A student can take a course in the summer term, not exceeding a total of 21 ECTS credits.

20. What are your recommendations for me to find a job after graduation?
The need for technicians and professional staff in our country is very high. Employers constantly express their need for employees who have minimum level of knowledge and skills in their professional fields, have high communication skills and have learned to learn. In a factory, at least 5-10 technicians work for 1-2 engineers.
In addition, along with the education given in our School, the certificates obtained in various courses provide great advantages for finding a job. Choosing the right internship place and the success shown in the internship are also the most important opportunity for the student to find a job. Making the most of the technological opportunities of our Vocational School, workshops and laboratories, learning our profession in the best way and learning computer package programs related to our field will make it easier for us to find a job. But most importantly, we should not limit ourselves to improving ourselves.
